The two Thomas Ruff exhibitions currently at Gagosian Gallery have very different focuses: pornography and the planets. For both series, the artist has appropriated internet images (sourced respectively from porn sites and NASA's online archive), blowing them up until clarity gives way to cloudiness, as if vision has been blurred by the dizzying rush of lusting after those otherworldly orbs.
