3. There was a black cape with a mint-green inner lining, which made us hungry for choc-mint ice cream, and, also, it’s always time for a cape.

Can you describe the concept for the collection with a haiku?
What does that mean?
You know, they’re Chinese* poems where the first and third lines have five syllables, and the second has seven.
That’s too difficult.
You’re right. Can you try?
It was my ideal representation of a wardrobe for real life. [This
sentence can actually be made into a haiku — It wasn’t intentional!] So,
it’s practical, and yeah… I made it to reflect the way I would dress if
I were a woman — so it was athletic and easy, but kind of special.

If this collection were a woman in a film—
Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface.
—to be played by a man, which actor would you pick?
Erm... Geez... [He laughs] I have no idea.
Excerpt:
If your collection were a frozen yoghurt with three toppings, what would it be?
Fruit toppings?
It could be choc-chip if you like.
Oh, right. Honeycomb…
Are we talking vanilla yoghurt?
Yeah. This is really hard. I like things to be simple. I wouldn’t put three toppings on there, to be honest.
Excerpt:
Who was the last person you telephoned in the 90s?
What, just before the millennium? Oh my god — amazing! That’s a
really good question! It was my mum, because she was in France and —
Are you a mummy’s boy?
Yes! [He laughs] I’m pretty sure that’s obvious by now.
Do you speak to her everyday?
Most. My boyfriend thinks it’s weird.
Excerpt:
The collection is called 'Dream Possession'. Does that have anything to do with sleep paralysis?
No! I’ve had that so many times, where you just can’t sleep.
Sleep paralysis is where you’re dreaming, but your eyes are open and you can’t move.
Oh my god.
So, you’re seeing the dream happening around you.
No, that’s weird. I haven’t had that before. And you can’t get out of it?
No.
So, what were you seeing?
I saw like a big black demon just, like, hanging out. He was leaning on the windowsill nonchalantly.
And your eyes were open?
Yeah.
No! No! Don’t! No! I don’t even want to know about this! I hope I don’t have it now. That sounds horrible.
